¡Japanese Movie

 Description
Conceived in 1927 as the hero in a serialized newspaper novel by Fubo Hayashi,Tange Sazen instantly became a cultural icon when the first of twelve movies were produced a year later. Like Zatoichi, the blind swordsman, Tange has his own handicaps that make people think he's weak. He has only one eye and one arm but, despite these handicaps, he still manages to best his enemies with his skill as a master swordsman. Thirty-eight years after his last cinematic adventure, director Toshio Tsuda resurrects the ronin in a remake of the 1935 feature "Tange Sazen and the Pot Worth a Million Ryo" ("Tange Sazen: Hyakuman Ryo no Tsubo"). Etsushi Toyokawa ("Dog Star", "Moon Child") is the latest actor to assume the role and Emi Wakui plays his forever-nagging wife. He becomes involved with an orphaned baby and the title pot of one million ryo. DVD extras include a Making Of segment, interviews, theatrical premiere footage, deleted scenes, outtakes, trailers, a photo gallery, costume designs, a shooting location map and comparisons to the original film. Pictured disc(s). Custom Case.
