¡24 no Prelude to Fugue
¡Ichiro Doi
Description
[Machine Translation] The "24 Preludes and Fugues" is a sacred work of classical piano music by Bach, the father of music, who composed preludes and fugues in 24 different keys, 12 major and 12 minor, respectively. In modern times, the Russian composer Shostakovich composed two pieces in the same form, and these two pieces became the most important repertoire for pianists as the giants of classical piano music. Ichiro Doi, a jazz pianist with a 40-year career, was fascinated by this form and spent more than three years composing this piece. While paying homage to these two great pianists, this is a completely new "Prelude and Fugue" from Tokyo in 2011. A must-listen for classical and contemporary music and piano fans alike! Liner notes by Junichi Onuma.
