Description
DVD release of the film "Saya Zamurai (Scabbard Samurai)" directed by Hitoshi Matsumoto of "Dai-Nipponjin (Big Man Japan)" It had its international premiere at the 64th Locarno film festival. Plot: A woebegone samurai Kanjuro, who only has a scabbard because of an incident, continues his wandering with his young daughter Tae, because he escaped from his domain and now has a bounty on his head. Finally Kanjuro is captured by a samurai from another clan and set an unusual task by its oddball lord; make the lord's depressed son smile. He will have 30 chances, once a day. If he successes, he will goes scot-free, but if he fails, he has to commit seppuku. Now his challenge begins. . .
