This is the latest in a series of archival works that unravels her career with rare recordings unearthed from Joni Mitchell's archives! Continuing from the previous release, this album focuses on the five years between 1976 and 1980, when she explored a sound that incorporated elements of jazz. The box set contains previously unreleased studio recordings and alternate versions of hit songs from "Hejira," "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter," "Mingus," and "Shadows and Light" albums released during this period, as well as rare photos from that time. The box set contains rare photos from the era. As with previous releases in the series, the box set also includes liner notes written by popular film director Cameron Crowe, who interviewed Joni Mitchell directly (Japanese translation included on the domestic import version).
