His father is Kunizan Yamamoto, a shakuhachi player of the Miyakoyama school (living national treasure). This is the first recording of original compositions by Yamamoto Shinzan, who has been working with his father. The compositions are diverse, ranging from a shakuhachi duet to an ensemble piece including koto and 17-gen. Yamamoto himself participated in the recording, including "Soten," which depicts the changing expression of the sky. His father, Kunizan Yamamoto, plays the solo part in the shakuhachi concerto.
