Based on the hit TV drama "LIAR GAME" (April to June 2007), this work is written by Shinobu Kaitani, one of the most popular manga artists in Japan today. This is a psychological entertainment anime set in a professional baseball game, in which the main character, Toa Tokuchi, and his team engage in a game that pokes at the very depths of the psyche. The psychological battle between the protagonists, which defies the conventional wisdom of baseball manga that "the protagonist makes an effort and leads his team to victory," unfolds with the same sense of urgency as in the original work. The cast features veteran actors such as Masato Hagiwara as Toa (the main character), Tsutomu Isobe as Captain Lunge (in "MONSTER"), and Kenji Utsumi as Raoh (in "Fist of the North Star"). The staff includes director Yuzo Sato, who has worked on such high-profile works as "Gyakkyo Muyo Kaiji" and "The Legend of Akagi", and series writer Hideo Takayashiki. Total of 13 episodes are included in the series.
