Description
[Machine Translation] Kuniko Mukoda has written numerous masterpiece drama scripts, including "Asura no Gotoku" and "A-Un," as well as tasteful essays about her family, such as "My Father's Apology," and her novels, including "Memorable Cards" and "The Woman Next Door," have also received high praise and won the Naoki Prize. The popularity of Mukoda's works, which depict relationships between men and women and the family with a unique sense of humor and venom, continues unabated. This summer, 30 years after her death, NHK released a DVD box set of Kuniko Mukoda's drama "Walnut Room" for the first time in 25 years, starring Nao Matsushita of "Gegege no Nyobo" (Gegege's Wife). Set in Tokyo around 1980, before the bubble economy, "Walnut Room" tells the story of Momoko, a serious and clumsy second daughter, who struggles to protect her family in place of her father, who has evaporated due to restructuring. A mother who is disappointed after being betrayed by her father, an older sister who is also troubled by her husband's infidelity, a younger sister who is aiming for a "ball and chain" marriage, and a younger brother whose job search is not going well. Each family's problems are revealed one by one, just like "Walnut's Room" inside Walnut.... Leaflet to be enclosed.
