 Description
[Machine Translation] The story takes place in postwar Kyoto in 1951. Ichihi (Mugi Kadowaki), the daughter of Kuwanoki, a long-established ryotei restaurant, has lost her husband and spends her days working as a chef in the kitchen of a hotel. Ichihi is determined to make a living in the world of Western cuisine, but her family's ryotei restaurant, Kuwanoki, is in danger of losing business as customers continue to leave after the war. In order to receive support for the ryotei, Ichihi is offered a marriage proposal with the Yamaguchi family, a hotel owner in Osaka, but the offer is unexpectedly made to a 19-year-old university student, Zhou (Sakuma Ryuto). Ichihi and Shu, who is a young man with a sharp and harsh "ao-to" (green pepper) like tongue in cheek remarks, are in a state of conflict, but Ichihi, with a "nagatan" (kitchen knife) left by her late husband in hand, decides to enter into a political marriage in order to rebuild "Kuwanoki".
