The film depicts the story of the master of a major company, Hatsushiba Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. as he strives to work while facing head-on the competition among companies, factional strife within the company, and other situations that are the fate of salarymen. The original story was set during Japan's high-growth period in the 1980s, but this dramatization is a modern-day version of Kosaku Shima, who is working in the midst of a stagnation that seems like a current recession.
