¡Nihon wo Utau
¡Tsutomu Aragaki
Description
[Machine Translation] Tsutomu Aragaki's fifth album of original music features nostalgic Japanese children's songs and shoka, and sings about the Japanese emotions that run deep within them. The songs are mainly from the "Akai Tori Undo (Red Bird Movement)" of the Taisho and early Showa eras, written by Kitahara Hakushu, Saijo Hachijo, Noguchi Ujo, and others, and composed by Nakayama Shinpei, Yamada Kosaku, Motoyo Nagayo, and others. It is said that this movement was started by people who felt a sense of crisis over the militarization of the world at that time, in order to convey their thoughts to the next generation of children. As an epoch-making piece unique to this year's festival, Tsutomu Aragaki will sing a newly composed version of "Me, a Little Bird, and a Bell," a masterpiece by Misuzu Kaneko, who was recently discovered and instantly became a nationally known children's song poet. The song was composed by Ryuichi Sugimoto, known for composing "Believe" and other songs, and will be NHK's "Everybody's Song" song for December and January!
