¡Berlioz 200th Anniversary Memorial Recording
¡Czech National Symphony Orchestra

 Description
[Machine Translation] This recording was made immediately after the concert celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Berlioz ( 1803-1869 ), the founder of French Romantic music. Although clearly influenced by German composer Beethoven's ( 1770-1827 ) country symphony in its delicate depiction of nature in sound, this is a groundbreaking work that is not bound by tradition in its decisive use of colorful effects achieved by the expansion of brass instruments. In this work, one can sense Berlioz's great talent, which later influenced Liszt, Wagner, and others. [Recorded: October 10-14 & December 15, 2003 at Dvorak Hall, Prague
