¡Violin Sonatas Op, 5, Vol.1
¡Enrico Onofri & Imaginarium Ensemble

 Description
[Machine Translation] Arcangelo Corelli's Sonata for Violin, Violone, and Harpsichord, Op. 5, is now available on CD. The Italian violinist Enrico Onofri, who has been described as "the best baroque violinist in the world," will perform the sonatas. Onofri, who is from the same town as Corelli, plays the melodies written by Corelli as if he had just written them himself, and Onofri's own diminutions as if they had been written by Corelli. In other words, it can be said that he expresses Corelli's "song" as naturally as possible. Another reason why this recording is the "definitive one" is that A. Palmeri, a master of Imaginarium, plays on "C. Cimapane," a violone (a large cello) actually used in Corelli's orchestra.
