The remake stars Vince Vaughn as Anthony Perkins, Anne Heche as Janet Leigh, Julianne Moore as Vera Miles, William H. Macy as Martin Balsam, Rita Wilson as Patricia Hitchcock, with Gus Van Sant doubling for Alfred Hitchcock. I generally like Vince Vaughn, but let's face it, Tony Perkins WAS Norman Bates (in the same way Leonard Nimoy WAS Spock). As a side note: If you wanna catch Vince Vaughn as a "good" psycho killer, watch "Clay Pigeons" instead. Vaughn plays the role of a happy-go-lucky psychopath that fits like a glove.
