To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of Frank Zappa's two masterpieces "Waka/jawaka" and "Grand Wazoo" in 1972, a box set full of previously unreleased material will be released in Japan! The CDs feature the high-fidelity SHM-CD format. Blu-ray Disc (audio only): Includes all productions of "Waka/jawaka" and "Grand Wazoo" by Frank Zappa and "Big Band." Features 96kHz/24-bit PCM stereo and newly produced 48kHz/24-bit Dolby Atmos & Dolby Digital TrueHD 5.1ch surround mix based on the original multitrack tapes. CD1 & 2: Contains previously unreleased material from the "Waka/Jawaka" - "Grand Wazoo" recordings, including alternate takes and versions of the recordings with a large band consisting of Ainsley Dunbar, George Duke, Don Preston and other great players, in roughly chronological order. CD3 & 4: The first complete, uncut recordings of the band's stunning live performance at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco on December 15, 1972. CD3 also includes a live recording of the 20-piece "Grand Wazoo Orchestra" in Boston in September 1972, as well as demos/outtakes from a recording session with George Duke, produced by Zappa and featuring Zappa on guitar (all previously unreleased material).
