¡Wagner: Gotterdammerung[Limited Edition]
¡Sir Georg Solti (conductor)

 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the final work of a major project started in 2022 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth and 25th anniversary of the death of Sir Georg Solti, the conductor who was responsible for the first ever studio recording of Wagner's great work "The Ring of the Nibelung". The first ever complete studio recording of "The Ring of the Nibelung", completed by Scholte between 1958 and 1965, will be released as needed. The singers, orchestra, performances, recordings, etc., are still the best and most enduring recordings ever made, more than half a century after the recordings were made. This 2022 remastered edition uses DSD masters created in 2022 from the original 1958 stereo master tapes. Directed by Andrew Wedman, formerly of Emil Berliner Studios, the tapes were adjusted with a Studer A820 machine, a Weiss analog-to-digital converter, and a proprietary workstation that records the output. Some of the 38 original master tapes, the oldest of which were 65 years old, were in need of editorial repair and oxide stripping, but those in poor condition were successfully restored by baking them at 55 C for 10 hours and newly mastered at a high resolution of 24-bit/192 kHz. Mastering was done by DECCA engineer Philip Siney, who trained under Jimmy Locke, an engineer who was involved in the original recording sessions in 1964 and 1965 and supervised two transfers in 1984 and 1997. For tape hiss and noise removal, sophisticated tools such as iZotope RX-9 and CEDAR Retouch, which are far more effective and less invasive than previous programs, are used, allowing the brilliant overtones of the Vienna Philharmonic's brass and strings to be heard as never before. Japanese only, with green color label coat, three-sided spine case with original LP jacket, and booklet with bilingual lyrics SA-CD hybrid version, with a full-length CD of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's "The Vienna Philharmonic" and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's "The Vienna Philharmonic".
