The latest remastering from the original masters. Bernstein's fantastic performances are now available with his own commentary! Bernstein recorded these recordings for Decca in his 30's in the US. Two of the recordings, "New World" and "Pathetique," as well as all of the narration, are being released for the first time in Japan. The other recordings were originally released on LP in 1972, but soon went out of print and were unavailable for a long time. The complete set of five symphonic masterpieces are presented with his own narration, and each symphony was recorded in its entirety by the young Bernstein. The commentary includes the complete English text of the narration and its translation.
