¡"Panorama" Mendelssohn
¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] [Panorama Series: Quasi-New Press] "Panorama" is a series for beginners of classical music that compiles masterpieces of classical music by composer on 2 discs using Deutsche Grammophon and Decca sound sources. With the exception of some operas, there are no fade-outs or movement excerpts, and all movements of each work are included. The performances are all masterpieces that can be recommended with confidence. This is an encore pressing of 40 selected titles. Mendelssohn's works in a wide variety of genres are collected on two CDs. The Violin Concerto was performed with great romanticism by Mutter when he was 17 years old, and this is the only recording of this work by Karajan together with "Italia". Barenboim's performance of the four pieces from "Mummets" is rich in emotion. A Midsummer Night's Dream is an acclaimed recording conducted by Kubelik. The octet by the Academy Chamber Ensemble is recorded on the original Philips disc. [Performances] Anne-Sophie Mutter (violin) ( 2 ), Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra/Conductor: Herbert von Karajan ( 1-3 ), Daniel Barenboim (piano) ( 4 ), Edith Mathis (soprano), Ursula Beese (alto), Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Orchestra and Chorus, Raphael Kubelik ( 5 ), Academy Chamber Ensemble ( 6 ) Recordings: January 1971 ( 1, 3 ), September 1980 ( 2 ) Berlin, June 1973 Paris & December 1973 London ( 4 ), November 1964 Munich ( 5 ), December 1978 ( 6 )
