¡Osvaldo Golijov: Oceana, Tenebrae, Three Songs
¡Classical V.A.

 Description
[Machine Translation] (Luciana Souza, a Brazilian jazz singer who was named the 2005 US Female Jazz Singer of the Year and has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, sings in this work. Golijov's first choral work, in the spirit of Bach, was the "Mark Passion," which later developed into the "Tenebrae" (Tenebrae). (Tenebrae is a collaboration with the famous Kronos Quartet. (It is a meditative work in two movements, one on suffering (anguish), the other on suffering (suffering seen from within and from afar). Despite Golijov's impression of today's world of suffering, Tenebrae is a work of brilliant beauty. It is at once a lament and a prayer for consolation and peace. The Strauss-inspired ( Three Songs ) features his muse, Dawn Upshaw, as in the previous work. Recordings: 2004/11 ( 1 ), 2005/11 ( 3 ), 2006/11 ( 2 )
