 Description
[Machine Translation] [ECM in the 21st Century] 2024 is the 55th anniversary of ECM! ECM ("Edition of Contemporary Music"), one of Europe's leading jazz labels, was founded in Munich, Germany in 1969 by Manfred Eicher, a charismatic producer of rare talent. The founding concept of the label was "the next most beautiful music after silence. The label has attracted many fans around the world with its transparent sound, clear sound quality, and sophisticated and beautiful jacket design, which are distinctly different from other labels. The label has produced many jazz classics, including Keith Jarrett's "The Cologne Concert" (1975), Chick Corea's "Return to Forever" (1972), and Pat Metheny's "Bright Size Life" (1976). In 1984, he broadened his genre of music to include classical music. In 2023, at the age of 80, Eicher will continue to record more than 20 new works a year, making him one of the most active composers in the pursuit of music. In conjunction with the release of the new ECM Revisits series to commemorate the 55th anniversary of ECM, the label is releasing an encore pressing of its ECM in the 21st Century series, originally released in 2022. This series introduces ECM in its current form, with a focus on artists who are currently active at the forefront of the field. This is the third ECM trio work released in 2017 by the Swiss composer/pianist, who is expanding his activities to the stage and film. A work of musical art that creates a space for group improvisation through sophisticated flame work with piano that quietly outlines the melody, quiet and lyrical, and climaxes as the rhythm strengthens amidst the calm. Patrice Moret's weighty bass and Julien Sartorius' delicate drums and cymbals create a broad expression of Vallon's artistic concept and emotion. The album consists of 11 original compositions, 9 of which are by Vallon, allowing the listener to enjoy the charms of composer Yoshite. [Colin Varon (p), Patrice Moret (double-b), Julien Sartorius (ds) Recorded February 28 - March 1, 2016 at Auditorio Stelio Moro, Lugano, Switzerland
