Features UHQCD format. *UHQCD (Ultimate High Quality CD) is an upgraded version of HQCD, a high fidelity CD format developed by Memory-Tech. Six previously unreleased recordings by soprano Jessye Norman, who died in 2019, from 1988-1998, a decade during which she was exclusively contracted to the Philips label. Each source has been remastered from the original master tapes.CD1: 1998 recording with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur. Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde". CD2: R. Strauss' "Four Last Songs" recorded in May 1989 and Wagner's "Wesendonck Lieder" recorded in November 1992. Both are live recordings with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James Levine. CD3: Live recordings of Britten's "Phaedra," Haydn's "Schona in Berenice," and Berlioz's "Cleopatra's Death," recorded in concert with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa in February 1994.
