¡A KNIGHT'S TALECollector's Edition
¡Movie

 Description
Much has been said about this film's anachronistic use of music. Its Japanese distributor named this film "Rock You!" for Japanese market which is annoying (with all due respect to Queen's song) because it detracts from the film's greatness. The soundtrack is this film's charm but not the beauty. The beauty of this film is in its simplistic and dynamic storytelling, and in the acting. After gaining well deserved critical acclaim for his "L.A. Confidential" screenplay, Brian Helgeland went on to direct "Payback" and "A Knight's Tale." Both films are based on stories and premises that, in the hands of lesser directors, would have turned into unnecessarily flashy but soulless yawn-inducers. However, under Helgeland's steady hand, both films proved to be enormously entertaining and satisfying fare. "A Knight's Tale" follows the often comical and exciting adventures of William Thatcher (Heath Ledger), a low-born helot who, upon his master's death, impersonates a noble knight to become a jousting champion, and his colourful sidekicks brilliantly portrayed by Mark Addy, Alan Tudyk, Laura Fraser and Paul Bettany. Among them, Bettany shines in particular playing Geoffrey Chaucer one of whose "Canterbury Tales" this movie is loosely based on. According to history, Chaucer disappeared from public view at one time, and his whereabouts was purportedly unknown for a period of a half year, and Helgeland used that premise to tell what he could have been doing during that period of time.
