Description
Based on the autobiographical novel by Helene Hanff, the film stars Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft as two book loving people who live on the other side of the Atlantic from one another. It's a touching tale of friendship between the two who have never actually met, but whose friendship grew stronger as the years went by through the letters they wrote. Directed by David Hugh Jones ("Jacknife"), the film features a great score by George Fenton ("Cry Freedom," "The Fisher King," "Gandhi").
