¡FRANK BLACK FRANCIS
Description
[Machine Translation] The origin of the Pixies' success in 2004! A two-disc set of previously unreleased recordings of the Pixies that showcases a new side of the Pixies! Disc 1 is a collection of previously unreleased tracks recorded at the request of producer Gary Smith prior to the recording of the Pixies' debut album "Camon Pilgrim" released in 1987. The tracks, composed of Francis' guitar and voice, are like sketches of the Pixies. Disc 2 is a self-released cover of the Pixies' "The Pixies" recorded in London in the summer of 2003 with Two Pale Boys, a British avant-garde unit known for their work with David Thomas, frontman of the legendary avant-garde punk band Peru Ubu. The Pixies' self-titled cover of "Cactus" was recorded in London in the summer of 2003. Cactus" reminds me more of David Bowie's cover version than Pixies'. The sound of the trumpet is also fresh. This album reaffirms the songwriting talent of Gluck Francis-Frank Black and the excellence of the Pixies' music.
