Also includes a photo book and features outer case packaging. Plot: On the night of December 29th, the year is drawing to a close. Kudo, a detective, drives in the rain to visit his mother who is in critical condition. Then Kudo receives a call on his cell phone from the chief of police. Awajima's inquisitive question, "There was an accusation in a weekly magazine that a slush fund is being created in our department." Awajima's inquisitiveness makes Kudo's blood boil, and although he manages to get through it, his heart is filled with impatience. He is also at a loss for words when he receives a call from his wife informing him that his mother has just passed away, but at that moment, the car he is driving hits a man. When he found out that the man had died, he put his body in the trunk of the car and left, dismayed. When Kudo arrives at his mother's funeral home, he puts the body of the man he hit in her coffin and attempts to burn it at the funeral home with her. At that moment, Kudo receives a message on his phone. It says "You killed a man. I know it." The sender of the message is Yazaki, an inspector at the prefectural police headquarters. He, too, is upset when a man goes missing and now is dead. What's more, there is a secret hidden behind the man's disappearance that Yazaki must never let people know about...
