Description

Heishiro Hirayama (Satoshi Yamamura), a writer, lives with his wife, daughter Kyoko (Kyoko Kagawa), and son in a summer resort on the plateau. He often approaches Kyoko with marriage proposals, but they never come to an agreement. One day, an acquaintance, Ryokichi ( Isao Kimura ), asks Heishiro for Kyoko as his daughter-in-law... This is a film adaptation of Saisei Muroo's "Kyoko," which won the 9th Yomiuri Literary Award. The film depicts, with a quiet touch, Kyoko's miserable and difficult married life and her father's warm heart who pours infinite love to her.
