¡Dodesukaden (Dodes'ka-den)
¡Japanese Movie

 Description
The 1970 movie is one of Kurosawa's underrated gems. Based on a novel by Shugoro Yamamoto, it depicts the lives of post-war Tokyo's slum through 8 episodes. It's also the master filmmaker's first film in color. Under the supervision of the highly acclaimed cinematographer Takao Saito (who worked on many Kurosawa films including Sanjuro, Red Beard, Dodes'ka-den, Kagemusha, Ran, and Akira Kurosawa's Dreams), master filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's films have been restored and remastered for the DVD to offer the highest audio and video quality possible today. Scene chapters are set according to the scene divisions appearing on Kurosawa's screenplays. The contents of this individual release is the same as the one included in the Akira Kurosawa boxed set. The keepcase comes housed with a booklet in a box. The booklet contains pictures including a gallery of posters and other promo/ad materials.
