The live action film based on the legendary boxing manga "Tomorrow's Joe (Ashita no Joe)" comes out on DVD! Stars Tomohisa Yamashita (NEWS), Yusuke Iseya, and Karina. Directed by Fumihiko Sori of "Ping Pong." Premium edition includes a bonus DVD with making-of, event footage, talk by casts, interviews, and more. Also includes a booklet. Plot: Set in the 1960's, Joe Yabuki lives in a savage low-income ara. One day, alcholic ex-boxer Danpei Tange notices Joe Yabuki's talents as a boxer and tries to train him to be a professional boxer. However, Joe is later arrested and goes to a youth detention center. There, Joe meets his future rival Rikiishi, who is a champion caliber professional boxer, and is completely knocked out. After getting out of the center, he gets special training from Danpei Tange and becomes an elite boxer and famous for a devastating cross counter. On the other hand, Rikiishi finally gets his shot at the world championship belt, but before that, he wants a match with Joe. The two boxers enter the ring. . .
