 Description
[Machine Translation] Master filmmaker Ingmar Bergman has left behind a gem in the history of cinema. The film depicts universal themes such as aging, death, loneliness, and family, and has been acclaimed by critics around the world. The film depicts a day in the life of an old professor on his way to an honorary doctorate ceremony, interweaving recollections, dreams, and reminiscences of his life. The old professor is played by Viktor Sjostrom, a master of Swedish cinema known as a famous director of the silent era, including "The Immortality of Spirits," which became his last film. --The film tells the story of a lonely 78-year-old doctor, Esak Borj. His wife is dead, his children are on their own, and he now spends his days alone with his housekeeper. One night, Esak has a strange dream. A town without people, a clock without hands. A hearse stops in front of him. Inside the coffin is an old man who looks exactly like him, grabbing his hand and trying to drag him away. When Esak wakes up from his dream, he gets into his car and heads for the honorary doctorate award ceremony, but what awaits him there are a series of strange and mysterious events... Commentary booklet and postcards are included (tentative).
