A forensic autopsy determines that she was frozen to death, but it also reveals that one of her kidneys had been removed. Detective Shirai (Kosuke Toyohara) feels something is bothering him. Meanwhile, at the Ryoseikai Hino Hospital, a patient, Jiko Takakura, is undergoing artificial dialysis. Her daughter Hiromi pleads with her doctor, Seiichiro Hino ( Tetsuya Takeda ), to transplant her own kidney into her mother. However, Hino stubbornly refuses to accept the request. Meanwhile, an injured man and woman are brought to the hospital. The director Isamu Ota (Shigemitsu Ogi) learns of a kidney transplant that took place between the man and woman from their respective surgical scars.
