Description
[Machine Translation] This is the fourth film adaptation of Yasushi Sato's novel, following "Sketches of Kaitan City", "There but for Light" and "Over Fence". The film is directed by Sho Miyake, an up-and-coming director who has produced ambitious works such as "Playback" and "The Cockpit. The story is boldly adapted for the modern age by moving the setting from Tokyo to Hakodate, while maintaining the framework of the original story. The narrator "I" is played by Tasuku Emoto (A Lovely Dynamite Scandal). His friend Shizuo is played by young and talented actor Shota Sometani. The heroine is played by Shizuka Ishibashi, who won many awards for her role in "The Night Sky is Always Densely Blue. --Shizuo is unemployed and lives with "Boku" who works at a bookstore in the suburbs of Hakodate. Sachiko, who works at the same bookstore as "I", joins them, and the three of them drink, dance, and laugh together throughout the night. However, their happy days, which are built on a delicate balance, are always accompanied by a sense of foreboding of the end.... This is a coming-of-age film for those of us who live in the present, made by young talented actors and an up-and-coming director, and reflecting the smell of Hakodate and the light of summer as it is.
