Plot: Set in the 1950's, ten years after the war's end, a Japanese Antarctic research exploration team and 19 dogs that accompanied the team are stationed at the Showa Base in Antarctica under the encouragement of collect contributions by Japanese children who raise what little money to recover lost prestige. *The DVD disc is encoded for region 2 (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and no subtitles are included.
