Movie
Description
[Machine Translation] A couple who lost their daughter experiences a terrifying nightmare in Venice. This is an occult suspense thriller set in the watery city of Venice by Nicholas Roeg, a former cinematographer and later director of "The Man Who Fell to Earth" ('76) and "Gerace" ('79), who is a wizard of the visual arts. Donald Sutherland plays the archaeologist John, and his wife Laura is played by Julie Christie of "Doctor Zhivago" (1965). Alan Scott and Chris Bryant adapted the short story "Don't Look Now" by Daphne du Maurier, a novelist known for her Hitchcock novels. The music is by Pino Donaggio of "Carrie" ('76) and "The Killing Dress" ('80). The long-awaited 4K digital restoration master, restored and graded by cinematographer Anthony Richmond, is now available on Blu-ray. --John and his wife Laura, an English archaeologist, have lost their daughter Christine to "drowning" in a pond near their vacation home. A few months later, John and his wife Laura are in Venice, the "City of Water," on a church restoration project. At a restaurant, they meet two elderly sisters, Wendy and Heather. Heather, a blind medium, tells Laura that she has lost her daughter and that her daughter wears a "red raincoat". Heather advises Laura to leave Venice, and when she hears that her son, Johnny, has been injured at boarding school, she returns to London. John remains alone in Venice. In the morning, while going to the church where he works by boat, he sees his wife Laura, Wendy and Heather's elderly sister in black on the "Funeral Boat".
