Description

Plot: Shinichi makes his debut as a novelist at a young age, but his subsequent success is short-lived, and his live-in lover leaves him, leaving him in a state of depression. Then his friend's ex-wife, Yuko, moves in with her young son, Akira. Shinichi offers the house where he used to live with his girlfriend to the mother and the child, while he sleeps and wakes up in a prefab house away from them, creating an awkward "semi-living together" life. Shinichi, who has selfishly hurt others out of frustration with himself, writes endless stories night after night about his own cruelty. He writes, stops, tears up the manuscript, and starts again. It was like an act of self-mutilation. Yuko, on the other hand, goes out at night in search of a one-night stand. She, too, struggles to maintain a balance between her need to be strong as a mother and as a person, and the loneliness that is hard to fill. Akira, deeply hurt by his father's absence, begins to yearn for Shinichi, the only person close to him other than his mother. Shinichi and Yuko keep their distance from each other so as not to get too deeply involved, and the three of them spend a series of superficially peaceful days together. However, neither of them has yet to take the first step forward. And then...
