¡THE HOWLING
¡Movie

 Description
While director John Landis and young (now multiple-Oscar winning) make-up artist Rick Baker worked on "An American Werewolf in London", director Joe Dante and even younger make-up artist, Rob Bottin were working on "The Howling". While Hollywood annually produces at least two high-concept films based on an identical idea (e.g. "Dante's Peak" and "Volcano" in 1997, or "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon" in 1998) often with dreary results, it's rare that both films turn out to be brilliant, and in this case both Landis and Dante films have achieved classic statuses of horror comedy genre. Based on Gary Brandner's novel, John Sayles co-wrote the screenplay. Sayles did a cameo apperance in this film, and later appeared on Dante's "Matinee" (a really good film!). Bottin went on to become a master make-up artist, later working on films like John Carpenter's The Thing, Robocop, and Se7en. Digitally remastered.
