Description
[Machine Translation] Celebrating his 90th birthday in 2017, Dresden-born conductor Michael Gielen's fifth installment in his compilation box set is a collection of works by Bartok and Stravinsky. The works of these two composers, whom Gielen himself admired and frequently performed, are more emotionally charged than the classical and romantic works that have been released thus far. This box contains mainly recordings from the four CDs performed in the 2000s, but some of the works, such as Bartok's works on CD3 (recorded in the 1960s and 1970s) and Stravinsky's "Apollo Leading the Muse," are first-ever recordings. This is also the first time that the rare "King of the Stars" has been released on CD.
