¡BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
¡Movie
Description
When this show came out in the late '70s touted as the TV's answer to Star Wars, it was the biggest small screen phenomenon around that period. The show boasted much more expensive and elaborate special FX than any previous sci-fi shows on TV or even theatrical movies for that matter, except for the George Lucas production. This was made all possible by a special FX whiz named John Dykstra who had previously worked on that very same George lucas film as its special photographic FX supervisor. Dykstra also served as the show's producer in addition to doing the special FX. The late Lorne Greene is Commander Adama, and Richard Hatch (not the Survivor-winner guy) and Dirk Benedict co-star. Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn The Medicine Woman) is also in this movie as the mom of the kid with a panda-like robot dog (which is actually a monkey wearing a mechanized furry-robot suit!). The 3-hour pilot show was edited into a theatrical feature to be released internationally, and this DVD contains that movie. It's in the widescreen aspect ratio (Vista) of the theatrical release (letterboxed).
