¡Stanford: String Quartets No.5 & 8
¡Classical V.A.
Description
[Machine Translation] Stanford's string quartets are surprisingly little recorded. The two quartets on the album have also rarely been recorded, making the Dante Quartet's performance of them truly rare. No. 5 in B flat major was composed for Joachim, a friend who passed away in 1907, and is closely related to Joachim's "Romance" on the album. No. 8 is a beautiful piece from the last years of Stanford's life, with an introspective atmosphere. ( Performed by ) Krysia Osostowicz ( Violin ) / Mark Bebbington ( Piano ) / Dante Quartet
