¡Tan Dun: Water Passion After St.Matthew
¡TAN DUN

 Description
[Machine Translation] The International Bach Academy in Stuttgart commissioned four contemporary composers to write new editions of Bach's four Passions on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his death= (2000 was the Bach Year). This is one of them (the other three are Gubaidulina, Rihm, and Golijov). Like Bach's Matthew, it is based on the Gospels and is a magnificent musical drama depicting the history of mankind performed by an ensemble, solo and chorus, including 17 "water percussion" water instruments invented by Tan Dun. This album is a live performance of the world premiere in Stuttgart in September 2000. It will be released first in Japan. Bilingual translation is available.
