¡Romantic Sonatas[SACD Hybrid]
¡Mayuko Kamio

 Description
[Machine Translation] This is the first new recording in two years by violinist Mayuko Kamio, winner of the Violin Section of the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007. This album captures the fullness of Kamio's energetic performance activities in the five years that have already passed since her victory in the competition. The album contains three violin sonatas composed at the end of the 19th century by three composers who embodied the late Romanticism: Franck of Belgium, Brahms of Germany, and R. Strauss. All of them share the same basic performance repertoire for violinists, as well as the fact that they were written in the 1880s. The Frank, a major work of the Franco-Belgian school, the R. Strauss, a masterpiece of late Romanticism, and the Brahms No. 2, a fine piece of quiet romanticism in contrast to these two works, are also worth listening to. Recorded August 30 - September 3, 2012
