Description
Director David Fincher's ("Seven," "Fight Club") thriller is touted to be one of the best genre films in recent years. It stars Jodie Foster as a single mother with a sick 12-year old daughter, who is terrorized by a trio of burglars that includes Forest Whitaker (as the brainy mastermind who's only in it 'cos his luck ran out), Jared Leto (as the young wild sidekick along for the ride), and Dwight Yoakam (as the dangerous one with a gun... we need one of those in every thriller). They get into the Panic Room, a secure shelter built to keep the occupants safe for a long period of time. However, Whitaker's character has been building rooms like this for many years, and the result is a tense cat-and-mouse game involving skills of chess players. As with his previous films, Fincher uses fantastic (if a bit gimmicky at times) camera moves to keep the suspense more... suspenseful. DTS & Gold Disc.
