 Description
[Machine Translation] After winning their first Grammy for "Family Dinner vol. 1" (2013), and their follow-up, "We Like It Here," which debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts and swept the world, the band released their major label debut album (Impulse), "Sylva," in 2015. Sylva". This album, which cannot be missed in Snarky Puppy's career, has been newly remixed and remastered, and is now being released with two separately recorded bonus versions. The album was recorded in 2014 with the Metropole Orkest, the Netherlands' leading jazz/pop orchestra. It was recorded live at the Energy House in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, with an audience of 300 people. The album was recorded with the audience listening to the live sound through headphones. The live performance was based on the theme of "Organic," using only analog instruments, with orchestral arrangements by Michael League. This is one of the best recordings of Snarky Puppy's sound, a natural fusion of acoustic and electric, band sound and string orchestration. The sound of Snarky Puppy was also produced by Corey Henry (org., etc.) and Robert "Spat" Seawright (ds.) at the height of the band's first period. The long-awaited remix and remastering of this album clearly shows what kind of "sound" they wanted to produce. Two bonus tracks are included: "The Clearing" and another 15-minute version of "The Curtain".
