¡Inryoji Live
¡Slawek Jaskulke
Description
[Machine Translation] In May 2023, Swavek Jaskoucke performed in Japan for the first time in 6 years since "THE PIANO ERA 2017" in 2017. Starting with "POLISH PIANISM Concert" at the Main Hall of Meguro Persimon Hall, he has since toured Japan as "Piano solo Japan tour" in Kanazawa (Shirasagi Bijutsu), Nara (listude), Kobe (100BAN Hall), Okayama (Inryoji Temple), and Yonago (Yonago Shinsei Church). The live tours have been well received by the audience. The live performance at Inryoji Temple in Okayama on May 18 from that tour is now available on CD. This tour reflected Swavek's charm as an improviser who decides on repertoire and performance methods by feeling the atmosphere of each venue on the day of the tour. The Okayama concert was greatly inspired by the limpid temple atmosphere and the light rain that drizzled on the day of the performance, and the content was wonderful, bringing the entire venue together into one unified atmosphere. Kageryoji Temple, built in 1776, is famous as a live temple, and on this day, a grand piano was set up with felt in the resonant main hall made of clay walls and dry wood. The performance started with a new song "Kintsugi," inspired by the Japanese technique of "kintsugi (repairing chipped ceramics)," and continued with "Sea," "Music on Canvas," "Moments," and "Flying Flowers," a song from "Into the Dream Part II" with the same name, and nine other songs. Five of the nine songs were selected for the album ("East and Easy" was a common encore song at all venues on the tour). As Swavek himself described the performance of "Reflective," he performed piano music that was so magical that it seemed as if the world of ink painting had become sound. The songs from the different albums with different concepts were transformed into new landscapes with the texture of rain and temples, recording a night of marvel and silence.
