Adapted from Sidney Sheldon's best-selling novel, Morricone also used Edda del Rosso here to create beautiful love themes, tense cues, dramatic and violent music, and other elements that gave Morricone the impetus to compose for Hollywood films. The soundtrack for this film was released by Varese Sarabande in 1980. It was later released in 2012 exclusively on CD Club with the same content. Unfortunately, the film underwent some changes in the final cut, with some cues moved from their original locations and some key passages omitted. Disc 1 contains the score as conceived by Morricone, as well as the first-ever recorded music, plus some fun soundtracks for the party and casino sequences that appear here for the first time.
