¡Original Soundtrack (Music by Michael Kamen)
Description
*Non Japan-made disc. [Machine Translation] Known only to fans, we are pleased to announce the release of the first full score album for the 1985 film "Space Vampire" composed by Michael Kamen! The film was directed by Tobe Hooper, and the music is known as the score by Henry Mancini, the master who became popular for his magnificent theme song. However, due to a number of editorial changes made in post-production prior to the film's release, Mancini's schedule made it impossible for him to work on additional music, etc., and Michael Kamen was suddenly called in to do additional scoring, including a re-scoring of the entire opening in particular. Ultimately, over 75 minutes of music was recorded, including powerful orchestral cues throughout the opening and complex electronic music in the majority of the film that followed. The CD is being reprinted in cooperation with the Michael Kamen Estate and will be released for the first time as an album. For the first spaceship encounter scene, Kamen created a score for a full orchestral finish, utilizing the extensive resources of the National Philharmonic Orchestra while building on its powerful rhythmic base, and the nightmare sequence of the main character Carlsen was also re-performed by his orchestra The nightmare sequence of the main character, Carlsen, was also performed by his orchestra. In electronic cues, he created a thick, intense, multi-layered sound of his signature rhythmic devices and piano motifs. In two long sequences entitled "Alien Spacecraft Atmospheres" (included as The Extras), the second leads the entire album into a cascade of peaceful, serene electronic chimes, and the album's conclusion. The exciting original jacket of this work is also not to be missed. Imported domestic edition.
