¡Unpeople[Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)]
¡Shuta Hasunuma

 Description
[Machine Translation] After the Corona Pandemic, Hasunuma moved his base from Brooklyn, NY to Tokyo, and has been active in a wide range of artistic fields both in Japan and abroad, from exhibiting art works to accompanying movies, TV dramas, and TV programs, not to mention his activities with Hasunuma Shuta Philharmonic Orchestra. In the midst of such breakthroughs, he continued to create this album "purely for himself" at his own slow pace. During the five years of production, the album contains all the sounds that Hasunuma Shota himself played, collected, and recorded, as well as his memories of places and people. The sounds range from instrumental sounds to non-instrumental and electronic sounds, as well as field recordings. By treating all kinds of sounds equally, Hasunuma has created "unpeople" as a piece of art music. The various artists who share the brilliance of Hasunuma's recent sound memory are Jeff Parker, a guitarist known for releases on International Anthem and Nonsuch Records, and Keigo Oyamada of Cornelius, with whom Hasunuma also performs live. The artists include guitarist Jeff Parker, who has released works on International Anthem and Nonsuch Records; Cornelius Keigo Oyamada, who also performs live; Keiji Haino, who collaborates with Hasunuma on an irregular basis on various instruments; Greg Fox, a drummer from New York; Kom_i, who has a generous and expansive voice; and Okinawa-based Mutsumi Aragaki, who plays the sansen (Okinawan three-stringed instrument) and samban (three-stringed board). Guests include guitarist Shuta Ishizuka, who also performs with the Hasunuma Shuta Philharmonic Orchestra, and Fumiya Otonashi, who plays the Japanese instrument sho. The sounds of musicians from various fields of activity and their musical styles come together to raise the sonic contrast of this album. The sound work encompasses techno, ambient, jazz, post-classical, and even contemporary music, creating a free and airy sound that echoes the diverse activities of Hasunuma Shuta himself. This is his first studio recording album in seven years, since his singing album "Melodies" (2016). This is his first instrumental album in 15 years since "POP OOGA" (2008). This album is the current state of Hasunuma Shuta's sound. Comes in a paper jacket.
