¡DUNELong Version for TV broadcast
¡Movie
Description
The "Alan Smithee" version of "Dune" is 50 minutes longer than the "David Lynch" theatrical version, and includes many cuts unused in the theatrical version, with some explanatory narrations also added to it. There were also somescenes deleted from the original film for the TV broadcast, and the editing was not under Lynch's supervision, hence "the-alias-man" alias was used. There are decidedly more scenes involving Patrick Stewart's ultra-cool Gurney Halleck character, and some of the other subplots become clearer, particularly those involving the Fremen rituals.
