¡DUNE[Theatrical Feature]

Description
Even though it's a foregone fact that David Lynch's film "Dune" did not enjoy the success in the scope of Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings," the "Mulholland Drive" director's adaptation of the book by Frank Herbert must be considered a triumph in many respects. For one thing, the production and costume designs are superb, which the later mini-series doesn't even come close. Another major asset is its impressive international cast who conveys Frank Herbert's lines with perfection. The late Jose Ferrer and Kenneth McMillan were perfectly cast as Emperor Shaddam IV (the role once offered to Salvador Dali by Alexandro Jodorowski back when he was planning to film the Dune movie) and Baron Vladimir Harkonnen respectively. Sting hasn't had a better screen presence than his Feyd here, and this is the film Kyle MacLachlan made his impressive screen debut in, though shunned at first by those who couldn't recognize his talent. Anamorphically remastered from a new print.
