Description
Terry Gilliam's masterpiece, cowritten by Gilliam, playwright Tom Stoppard, and Charles McKeown who also co-wrote "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" with Gilliam. A typographical error plunges a good-natured but meek governmental clerk Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce) into a Kafkaesque nightmare of bureaucracy and brainwashing. Robert DeNiro appears as a heroic non-union plumber. Gilliam's fellow former Pythonite Michael Palin plays Lowry's friend. Bob Hoskins has a small role as one of the official state plumbers who do everything they can to make Lowry's life miserable. Ian Holm is Lowry's nervous boss, Mr. Kurtzmann. Remastered from the original negatives. Pictured disc.
