Description
[Machine Translation] Kenneth Branagh, who is known for his film adaptations of Shakespeare's plays, directs this hero action epic based on an American comic book. The film depicts a man who is deprived of his powers and banished from the world of the gods because of his unruly behavior, and how he grows emotionally through his interactions with a human woman, and how he stands up to the coming crisis between the earth and the world of the gods. Starring Chris Hemsworth of "Star Trek" fame, the film also co-stars Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. This film also marks the memorable Hollywood debut of Tadanobu Asano from Japan. Thor is the strongest warrior in Asgard, the world of the gods. However, he is too powerful and his arrogance causes unnecessary conflicts, which eventually provokes the wrath of his father Odin, the king of the gods. He is stripped of his right to the throne and his most powerful weapon, Mjolnir, and banished to Earth. However, Thor gradually learns to be sensible and considerate of others through Jane, an astronomer he meets there. Meanwhile, on Asgard, a terrible plot is hatched by Thor's brother Loki, and his father Odin is in danger. Loki is also about to send his most powerful assassin against Thor, who has lost his powers.
