¡Sakura Uta
¡Makimiki
Description
[Machine Translation] This is the first work produced by Ryoichiro Yoshida, who has been leading the modern Japanese music world as the Yoshida Brothers, a Tsugaru shamisen unit. For many people accustomed to modern music, min'yo may not be familiar to them. Makimiki's conception began with the idea that if folk songs were interpreted in a new way, made easier to listen to, and fused with music from around the world, a new type of folk song could be created that would be accepted by a wide range of people, including the younger generation. The album features bold arrangements of folk songs from Hokkaido and Tohoku, which both Maki and Miki have been familiar with since their training days, and a new pop-style composition.
